The drive was organised in response to the continuing need for readily available blood in hospitals. According to Nagaland DIPR, citing VBDAN, the state requires approximately 20,000 units of blood annually, highlighting the importance of regular voluntary blood donation.
The initiative holds particular significance for RMLCF as it continues to support cancer patients, some of whom may require blood or platelet transfusions during treatment.
RMLCF also extends its heartfelt gratitude to the jawans of the 17th Assam Rifles, Chieswema (Tseisema), Kohima, for their valuable support and participation.
Through this initiative, RMLCF hopes to encourage more people to become regular voluntary blood donors and help ensure that blood is available when patients need it most.
