Launch Day of RMLCF

Launch Day of RMLCF

Rev. Moa Longchari Cancer Foundation was launched on October 26 at Baptist Mission Church (BMC) Convention Centre, Kohima which was laid in memory of late Rev. Moa Longchari.

Delivering a keynote address, Khrienuo Moa, wife of late Rev. Moa Longchari explained that the mission of this foundation is to reduce cancer mortality rate across Nagaland through awareness, prevention and early detection to provide counselling for patients through their recovery and encourage them to live a full-life during and after their treatment, to raise funds across communities through donations contribution of materials and environmentally sustainable measures to have a positive impact on the surroundings and to collaborate with Oncologists, hospitals and other volunteers to maximise the effectiveness of spreading awareness and treatment for patients

It also have a vision to provide the best possible treatment for reducing the cancer mortality rate in Nagaland by providing medical financial assistance and counselling for the underprivileged and medically underserved communities.

“We have all experienced the pain of losing a loved one at some point in our lives and it is inevitable that there are people out there struggling to fight this fear and their underlying mission is to minimise the battles lost un-fought and stand to ensure that cancer patients are provided with the medical attention required but not necessarily attained”, Khrienuo added.

She went on to say that the foundation was laid in memory of Rev. Moa Longchari, whose generosity has touched them in manners unknown; it is also a reminder that death could have a beautiful start.

She also added that to the world we had lost him to cancer, but he had only gone through the inevitable cycle of life.

She maintained that the outlook is to acknowledge that death is inescapable and will show up in all forms, but through his life we have learned that to overcome death is to simply embrace life. His life here on earth has met an end, but not his dreams and the impact of his journey has compelled us to continue carrying the legacy of his unforgettable love, she said.

She hopes that this foundation is a testament and expansion of his Ministry and service to God, which we now has the privileged and honour to be a part of.

Khrienuo pointed out that he has influenced the life of every individual known to him, and remains the core essence of their foundation: to change a moment, if not a life.

NBCC Executive Director, Zelhou Keyho launched the RMLCF and shared a short message followed by words of appreciation by Neiphrezo Keditsu.

The programme was earlier blessed with scripture reading and invocation by BMC Pastor Rev. James C. Neikhrienyü and a special song was presented by BMC youth.
